The Fish Bowl: Of Bees and Time Travel
Greetings, my fellow EarthBounders; SM.netters, Americans, gamers, adolescents, and homo sapien sapiens. It is I, Madfish, your loveable and sarcastic comrade. After seeing the small number of articles lately, I became quite angry. Then I realized that I had not even written one. So, instead of whining to my math teacher, I decided to start submitting my own thoughts of wisdom (or stupidity, your choice). Let’s dive into the fish bowl that is my mind, and see what treasures we can find.
When I first decided to write an article, I planned on taking a serious look at SM.net and its relation to EarthBoud. I have spoke to some who believe it has outlived its usefulness. However, with the possibility of Mother 3, it would be useless to write such an article. Considering the arrival of Mother 3 would no doubt give this community a much needed kick to the head. Instead I have decided to muse on a couple of observations in EarthBound I noticed.
As I sit here watching Donnie Darko, I find myself thinking about Buzz Buzz and his travel back in time. I am confused as to why he chose that exact time to travel to. Yes, I realize that if he hadn’t there would be no game. However, if other people can write fan fiction, I should be able to point out the flawed logic in video games.
In order to avoid the difficulty of defeating Giygas, Buzz Buzz could have traveled to an earlier point in time. One where Giygas was weaker perhaps. Furthermore, if Giygas is in fact the same entity as Giegue, Buzz Buzz could have traveled before the events of Mother and prevent the entire fiasco from ever taking place. The fact that this is needed for the games to take place is the only conclusion I can come up with.
One last thing before I retire to my little plastic castle and hang out with the $2 scuba man. Buzz Buzz is killed by Pokey’s mom. If he can be easily swatted by a 40 year old lady with a 50’s haircut, why does Starman Jr. have such a hard time?
Until next time, this is Madfish reminding you to feed your fish daily. They really appreciate it.
